You have to put the project id in the query to work, with ´ ´ instead [ ] The correct query is: SELECT SUM(requests) FROM ´project_id.lab.pagecounts_20160108_11´´

Just shy of completely worthless. Not updated to current default interface. Didn't talk about the new beta (default) and the changes it made. Command used defaults which were not explained and then said go to documentation for the command to learn what the command does. Why did I do the lab. Even with all of the lookup it only took 7 minutes to type everything in.

It wasn't clear from the instructions that we were to use the old BigQuery UI, rather than the new console. But I did find the right page eventually.

The query "SELECT SUM(requests) FROM [lab.pagecounts_20160108_11]" is invalid using the BETA ui for Big Query.
